Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions explain the practical and financial arrangements relating to counselling services provided by The Bridge Counselling & Wellbeing Practice. They should be read alongside the Counselling Agreement and Privacy Notice.

2. Services Available

  • Free 15-minute Welcome Call

  • Initial Session (£55 for 50 minutes)

  • Ongoing Counselling Sessions (£55 for 50 minutes)

Student rates may be available upon request for trainee therapists.

3. Welcome Call

The purpose of the Welcome Call is to introduce ourselves, discuss what has brought you to counselling and give us both an opportunity to decide whether booking an Initial Session feels appropriate. There is no obligation to proceed further.

4. Initial Session

The Initial Session provides an opportunity to discuss the Counselling Agreement, ask questions and begin exploring what has brought you to counselling. It also allows us both to decide whether ongoing counselling feels appropriate.

5. Ongoing Counselling

Ongoing sessions are usually 50 minutes in duration and held weekly unless alternative arrangements are agreed.

6. Payment Arrangements

Payment for Initial and Ongoing Sessions (£55) is required at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.

If payment has not been received by this time, I may assume that you no longer wish to attend the session and reserve the right to cancel the appointment and offer the time to another client.

7. Booking & Payments

Session bookings are made through the online booking system. Payment details and instructions will be provided as part of the booking process.

8. Cancellations and Rearranging Sessions

If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, I ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice wherever possible.

9. Late Cancellations and Non-Attendance

Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice and appointments missed without notice will normally remain chargeable and are not usually refundable.

10. Exceptional Circumstances

I recognise that genuine emergencies and unforeseen circumstances occasionally arise. Exceptional circumstances will always be considered with compassion, fairness and professional judgement. I reserve the discretion to waive charges where I believe this is appropriate.

11. Late Arrival

If you arrive late, the session will still end at the agreed time and the full session fee remains payable. If you have not arrived within 20 minutes of the agreed start time, I will normally assume that you are not attending and may no longer be available should you arrive later.

12. Counsellor Cancellation

If I need to cancel or rearrange a session, I will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an alternative appointment where appropriate. No fee will be payable.

13. Holidays and Planned Breaks

Either of us may occasionally take holidays or planned breaks. Wherever possible, reasonable notice will be given in advance.

14. Ending Counselling

You are free to end counselling at any point. Where possible, I encourage an ending session so that we can review the work undertaken together and bring the counselling relationship to an appropriate close.

15. Review of Fees

Fees may be reviewed periodically. Any fee changes will be communicated in advance and will not take effect without reasonable notice.

16. Agreement

By commencing counselling you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
